Membership in The
Council | |
All the temples are invited to enroll as members of the Council. The
Council is defined by its Constitution as "a free Association of autonomous
Hindu Temples formed for certain limited purposes of common benefit and mutual
development." The constitution defines Hindu temples as those "which
are organized as traditional authentic temples with prayers and worship conducted
in the Hindu tradition and managed by Boards of Trustees or Directors. The
Constitution also provides as follows: "The membership will commence
from the date of admission by the Council and on the applicant's payment of annual
fees as determined by the Council periodically. Application for membership will
be presented to the Council of Temples for decision at its formal sessions. Hindu
associations and organizations (other than Temples) are eligible for Associate
membership with full privileges but with no voting." The application
form printed on the other side of this page may be duly completed and returned
along with a check made out to The Council of Hindu Temples for the appropriate
amount of membership dues. The completed application together with the check
may be mailed to Dr. Uma Mysorekar Secretary-Treasurer The Council
