of Hindu Temples of North America Essay CompetitionEssay
Competition for Middle School, High School and College Students (This
page updated June 20, 2004) Prize of $151 each will be awarded
to the top two Middle School students and High School students and Prize
of $201 each to the top two College students.
ESSAY TOPICS are: MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS - "My favorite character
in Ramayana and the reasons for him or her being my favorite." (Length of
essay - 750 words) HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS - "Human values from
Ramayana that guide us." (Length of essay - 1000 words) COLLEGE
STUDENTS - "The relevance of violence in Hinduism in reference to the
war of Mahabharata." (Length of essay - 1500 words)
The entrants to the competition should email their essays before January
31, 2005. Also, on a separate page, please include your: Name Address
Telephone No. Level of academic standing (i.e. Middle School, High School,
or College) A panel of judges has been established to adjudicate on the
